Hello, I’m Chris!

I’m a graphic designer, illustrator and visual artist living and working in Toronto/Tkaronto. My work is often inspired by and interwoven with community organizing and placemaking through arts and cultural programming. I’m driven by the ability that design and creativity have to connect us through community, and to change the way we interact with the world around us.

In all areas of my life, I love learning and creating. I really enjoy the process of watching my efforts come to life, whether that’s in my design work, or trying out a new recipe, crocheting hats, or nurturing my many (too many) houseplants.

I’m currently working as a Communications Coordinator at Culture Days, working on my Graphic Design thesis at George Brown College, and freelancing as a graphic designer and illustrator. My work has been commissioned by the Deputy Mayor of Toronto Ausma Malik, Toronto Chinatown Land Trust, Living Hyphen Magazine, CBC Life, Evergreen Brickworks, AsialisciousTO, the Museum of Contemporary Art and more.

Warm wishes,
Christie Carrière 刘加文 (she/her)
